After an explosive Season 3 finale, wherein, Robin Wright's Claire Underwood lets her President of the United States husband know that she is planning to leave him, many fans were left shocked that it looked like they House of Cards couple were really going to split. While the TV show's creator, Beau Williams, wouldn't give any real Season 4 spoilers away ahead of the Netflix premiere, he did talk about Claire's reasons for wanting to divorce Kevin Spacey's character after they seemingly achieved their ultimate dreams.
For the fans of Netflix' House of Cards that saw Frank and Claire underwood as a the ultimate power couple, the dissolution of their partnership is Season 4 came as quite a shock.
During a recent interview with series creator, Beau Williams, HuffPo Live tried to squeeze out a few Season 4 spoilers to little avail, but did manage to get a thorough explanation for the real motivations behind Claire's wanting out of their partnership in every way going in to 2016:
"If the marriage seems to be on the rocks to the degree that it is the nature questions are: Are Frank and Claire going to get back together? Are the not? What does it look like when they are not working together?
"What she really is troubled by is that they both have been lying to themselves, and thinking that they were equal partners. When in reality, there was only chair there in the Oval Office. And whatever she dreamed or presumed the First Ladyship to be is not what it ended up being, so she can no longer stomach the dynamic that they have."
Unfortunately, House of Cards series composer, Jeff Beal, also had nothing about Season 4 he was willing to give away when recently talking with Billboard, but mostly because he apparently tries to forget what he is doing as part of his creative process:
"Aside from the fact that everybody dies?
"I've just received the story bible and the script breakdown, so I literally know in big picture the shape of the season, which I kind of try to forget when I'm working."
So what in the hell is he even doing these interviews for?
