Jenna Dewan Husband Channing Tatum New Gambit X-MEN Movie in Jeopardy?

Ever since he can remember, Jenna Dewan's Magic Mike husband, has admired Gambit above all the rest of his X-MEN comrades, and has been doing his level best to bring the character to the big screen for a few years now. According to the latest gossip news updates, Channing Tatum is unexpectatedly having some real difficulties finding the right director to make his superhero movie. While he's working all the details out for the project, however, Jonah Hill's 22 Jump Street partner has also signed on to star in Two Kisses for Maddy, about a man struggling to raise his little girl alone after the death of her mother.

If you ask Channing Tatum, he will have nopthing but positive things to say about the progress he's making bringing X-MEN's Gambit to the big screen.

His chat with Empire magazine revealed, however, that much of his plans are still up in the air, while he tries to figure out the tone the new movie should have (via Hollywood Reporter):

"Josh Zetumer just turned in the first draft of the script, and it's killer.

"None of us were sure how he was going to deal with the X-MEN world.

"But we're going to be changing some of the tropes of these movies.

"It's always about saving the world (laughs), but maybe we're going to shift things a little bit."

According to the UpRoxx, Tatum's uncertainty has to do with his inability to get any of the directors he has in mind to actually sign on to make what amounts to just one more Marvel action hero movie:

"Let's look at the four directors he's allegedly asked. Namely, Darren Aronofsky, Bennett Miller, J.C. Chandor and Gareth Evans.

"Tatum keeps asking guys who want to make serious dramas if they'll direct his superhero action movie.

"Tatum has to find a director, and soon: Gambit has an October 2016 release date."

Regardless of his Gambit deadline, Variety is reporting that Channing just signed on to star in the film adaption of Matthew Logelin's memoir about raising a baby all on his own:

"Channing Tatum has set up the tear-jerker memoir Two Kisses for Maddy at Sony's TriStar label to produce and possibly star through his Free Association production company and Temple Hill Entertainment.

"Two Kisses, which took its title from the kisses Logelin gave his daughter each night, landed on the New York Times bestseller list when it was published in 2011."

Maybe Channing will be able to talk one serious director into signing on for both movies as kind of a twofer deal.
