Just weeks after the wedding in Venice, last September, the supermarket tabloids started to predict that George Clooney and his new bride, Amal Alamuddin, would soon be getting a divorce. According to the latest gossip news updates, Batman has been handling any problems that arise in their marriage by showering his wife with gifts. Word has it that the ER heartthrob is even thinking of buying her parents a $15-million mansion in Lebanon, just to stay in her good graces after supposedly talking about their private lives too much in the press during his recent Tomorrowland promotion tour.
Week after week, reports surface that George Clooney's new wife is either dissatisfied with his friends or his career choices or even what he's wearing, but it's also been rumored that he knows exactly how to keep his bride at bay as well.
A source claiming to be in the know reveals in the June 8 issue of Star magazine that from day one, George has been using his incredible net worth to keep Amal so thoroughly wined and dined that she couldn't really consider anything other than a spenging anouther evening out on the town with her hubby:
"Amal likes the finer things in life and all her friends know it...but she's enjoyed living his lifestyle.
"From day one, George has treated her like a princess, showering her with gifts and flying her around the world."
After Clooney's candid interviews about their relationship supposedly landed him in the hot seat, reports the informant, George started openly talking about buying a 12-bedroon mansion in Beirut to house the entire Alamuddin clan if they should so choose:
"He's been asking her parents, Ramzi and Bariaa, what they think of the place and if it would be a smart investment.
"Buying it would be a gesture of love and respect for Amal's family.
"He wants to show them how important they are to him."
At least, Clooney won't have to worry about all that spending on his new wife dipping into his plastic surgery budget since he is apparently one of the few leading men in Hollywood that doesn't believe in going under the knife for cosmetic purposes.
During a chat with the BBC's Radio 4, Clooney explained that it was his belief that the best thing to do is just embrace the grey hair and wrinkles instead of trying to fight a losing battle with often mixed results (via HollywoodReporter):
"Clearly, I haven't. For me, it isn't an issue or an option.
"I've seen it happen and...particularly on men, I don't think it really works well.
"I actually think it makes you look older.
"I'm a big believer in the idea that you can't try to look younger; you just have to try to look the best you can at the age you are and not worry about it."
Of course, it's easy to talk like that when you look like George Clooney does at 54...right, Burt Reynolds
