Mick Foley knows a thing or two about wrestling, even after the years of hardcore matches and multiple concussions. The WWE legend isn't afraid to let his opinions be known about the sport he loves either. Foley has written bestselling books like, Have a Nice Day and Foley is Good about his tenure in the WWE. Recently, Foley has taken time out of his new career performing a comedy act to discuss his thoughts on the recent WWE pay-per-view Payback event.
Foley understands what it takes to entertain the fans with a competitive match. Wrestle Zone tells of Foley's rant on Facebook about how wrestling has changed from when he was growing up after viewing Payback:
"Things are different now. We expect not only several good, competitive wrestling matches a week, but coherent story-lines, and character development that is seldom accomplished with just a string of lopsided victories. I really think that we have gotten so used to good wrestling on such a regular basis -- in WWE, NXT, TNA, ROH, NJPW, the Indys, etc., that we've just kind of become jaded."
Besides the years of wrestling experience for Foley, he has also branched out in the past with being an author and actor. Foley has recently begun trying another form of entertainment in his performing of a one-man show. Globe Gazette offers up good feel for the experience of the Foley performance:
"Showcasing his trademark blend of wildness and warmth, and combining the humor fans loved from his books and in-ring 'promos,' with the intensity of his famous matches, it is funny, surreal and sensitive."
What do you think of Foley's take on the wrestling of today as compared to his youth? What do you think of Foley taking the mic and trying his hand at comedy? Tell us your thoughts below.
