It was apparent from the moment he started billing himself as the virginal lead of ABC's The Bachelor a few years ago that Sean Lowe wasn't into conventionality. According to the latest gossip news updates, the deeply religious reality TV star has now signed up to share his spouse/Season 17 winner, Catherine Guidici, with Jason Mesnick in an upcoming episode of Celebrity Wife Swap. Even more exciting, is the couple's announcement that they are finally trying to get pregnant and start a family of their own.
Although Sean Lowe has gone out of his way to act like he is above the nitty-gritty world of reality television -- recently attacking the producers of The Bachelorette for having the gall to adjust the format -- the virgin Bachelor and his wife will soon be on yet another ridiculous show.
The king of Bachelor spoilers, Reality Steve, recently broke the news that Sean and Catherine were stepping back into the limelight to appear on none other than Celebrity Wife Swap:
"Jason and Molly [Mesnick] & Sean and Catherine recently just filmed an episode of Celebrity Wife Swap that will air in July.
"Catherine was filming in [Seattle] last weekend with Jason, and Molly was here in Dallas filming with Sean."
Despite owing his fame to The Bachelorette, Lowe had nothing but criticism for the franchise after watching the Season 11 premiere the other night.
The Wife Swap star explained in his blog that he absolutely hated the way the show's new format made the women look weak and wholly subservient to the male contestants (via Us Weekly):
"Last night, the girls didn't have an ounce of confidence.
"It was hard because it seemed like the girls were almost pitching themselves to the men as if they were running for student body president and every vote mattered.
"On every other season, the Bachelor/ette goes into it knowing that they call the shots, they pick the dates, and they know what traits they're looking for in the men."
While Sean's dogmatically wishy-washy views might be enough to send most women running for the hills, his wife, Catherine, recently claimed that she is actually starting a family with him.
In the June 8, issue of Life & Style, Catherine admitted that they haven't worked out all the details just yet, but she and Sean are already doing their best to get the first baby on the way as possible:
"I want a big family, so I've got to start now.
"[How many] is still up for debate in the Lowe household, but I want five!
"I would like to have three of our own and adopt two."
Let's just hope that the virgin Bachelor actually believes in adoption.
