Sydney's most beloved electronic group, Seekae, has attached their skills at sampling to none other than the Sydney Opera House. As of late, the Aussies remixed various natural sounds reverberating through the venue and turned them into a fully-fledged track.
Provided by Fact Mag, the Sounds of the Sydney Opera House: Remixed tracks have been compiled together to mark the premiere of this year's Vivid Sydney festival.
The annual festival kicked off over the weekend and has an 18-day run from May 22 to June 8 this year, during which the concert will light up the harbor city with a display of vibrant color and music.
The marvelous opera house acts as the main hub for the festival and is usually accompanied by visuals. It also will host a serious lineup of artists including the legendary Morrissey, Matthew Herbert, Squarepusher, Trevor Jackson and Robert Owens.
Speaking to Fact, George Nicholas of the group commented:
"Recording at the Sydney Opera House was great. I barely stopped the recorder all day as there was a constant stream of bizarre noises. I went in there thinking I would mostly focus on the sounds of performers in the halls and rehearsal rooms but I ended up spending most of my time in the vast labyrinth of concrete rooms underneath the house."
The tracks can be found below, and if you're in town during the festival be sure to drop in for a listen.
