Major Spoiler Alert: The Season 1 finale of The Flash left audiences with a lot of questions. One of the biggest ones being if Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) killing himself stopped The Reverse Flash/Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne (Tom Cavanagh) from being born, would it erase everything he has done and change the timeline as we know it. Now Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, is opening up about how Eddie’s sacrifice will affect Season 2, and alter the timeline.
Recently, Andrew Kreisberg spoke with ComicBookMovie.com about the afteraffects of the the Season 1 finale:
"Part of the fun of The Flash is when you have people dabbling in sci-fi physics, they’re significantly altering the world. We established in the finale that the entire series of The Flash is, in itself, an alternate timeline that’s been skewed from the real one. Wells setting off the accelerator created all the metahumans, and the results of the singularity will also have long-term effects."
Another big mystery is how will Tom Cavanagh return to the series, now that both the real Harrison Wells and Eobard Thawne are dead/was never born.
Recently, Andrew Kreisberg spoke to The Hollywood Reporter confirming Tom Cavanagh’s return:
“Tom Cavanagh will be back. That is not in question. Tom Cavanagh will continue to be a regular.”
