Ever since getting married in Venice, Italy last September, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have been said to be fighting over his choice of friends. According to the latest gossip news updates, Batman and his bride are on the verge of divorce once again following the London lawyer's openly insulting her husband's old friend and costar, Julia Roberts on the set of Money Monster. There has also been a lot made of Amal's spending on fashion inspired shopping sprees, but Brad Pitt's Ocean's Eleven bestie recently explained that his wife's "insane" sense of style is one of the things he loves most about her.
It has long been rumored that George Clooney's wife is less than impressed with his choice in Hollywood friends, but word has it that things recently came to a head while on Money Monster with Alamuddin supposedly insulting the Pretty Women icon both on and off the set
A source claiming to be in the know explains in the May 18, issue of Life & Style magazine that things started started downhill between the two ladies when Amal suddenly decided that she doesn't like the way Julia Roberts conducts herself while onset with her husband:
"Amal has been policing the set of Money Monster...[and] She cannot stand his co-star Julia and the way she steals George's time.
"[But] Julia's an old friend of George's, and they like to hang out."
It was while reportedly hanging out at French restaurant Claudette in New York that George supposedly had enough of his wife's rudely baiting his friends:
"While Julia was talking, Amal kept rolling her eyes.
"It resulted in a terrible fight between George and his wife once they got back to their hotel suite."
The secret source's credibility takes quite the beating after they go on in the article to insist that Clooney is also fed up with Amal spending so much time and money attending to her wardrobe, when Clooney just recently went on-and-on to Entertainment Weekly about just how head-over-heels he is for her zany fashion sense:
"It's amazing, because she's always -- since the day I met her -- she's always had this insanely...it's eccentric but it's fun, sense of fashion.
"How she does it while she's got 11 cases she's working on, and she was teaching at Columbia, and she's still like, 'I want to wear that dress.'
"It's crazy. It has been sort of fascinating to watch, because she has such great taste."
Maybe after another six-months the shock will have worn off enough for the tabloids to get over the fact that George Clooney has finally found the love of his life, but probably not.
