Newly acquired and also suspended (for domestic violence) defensive end of the Dallas Cowboys, Greg Hardy, has a hard time keeping his mouth shut. Or better yet, his fingers, if you will, and his team wants him to stop. Hardy once again went to Twitter and expressed his emotions in a series of tweets attacking a fan of his former team, the Carolina Panthers, that had coined a nickname for a just drafted player and a former teammate. The terrible joke made head coach Jason Garrett call for better judgement from his players while using social media.
Garrett let DallasCowboys.com know his feelings towards social media:
"I just think it's important for guys to use it the right way. We try emphasize that to our guys - distinguish yourself with your play, not with what you say. Some guys just need reinforcement one way or the other when they reach out and do some of those things. It's all a learning process. None of us are perfect, so we're just trying to address it as these things come up."
With the Carolina fan mentioning that the newly drafted Devin Funchess and former teammate Kelvin Benjamin should have the nickname "The Twin Towers," Hardy somehow felt the need to respond. NBC Sports Pro Football Talk gave the sample of the tweet, after it had been erased,
"Didn't the twin towers get blowN up lol."
Not only was the tweet erased but Hardy said that he was going to give up Twitter. That lasted all of one day once an analyst made a remark about the Cowboys hoping he sticks to not using twitter. Hardy quickly lobbed disrespectful retweets about the analyst from numerous sources.
With Hardy already suspended and a distraction should the Cowboys go ahead and keep him on the team or make a bold move and take him off of their roster? What are your thoughts? Tell us what you think.
