Jason Derulo Joins Tinder and ‘SYTYCD’ after Jordin Sparks Split?

R&B singing sensation Jason Derulo has remained ostensibly single since breaking up with former fiancé, Jordin Sparks, last year, but that could all be about to change thanks to the marvels of modern technology. According to the latest gossip news updates, in addition to joining the cast of So You Think You Can Dance as a new judge, Derulo has also joined dating app Tinder. Interestingly, Derula doesn't have an actual dating profile, but he does have a new single, "Want to Want Me," whose video you can watch and then purchase all while trolling the local singles scene.

Jason Derulo may have walked away from would-be-wife, Jordin Sparks, but the 25-year-old singer/dancer doesn't have any problem committing to a bold new business strategy.

According to Forbes, Derulo is the first well-known recording artist to feature a new single on the dating app Tinder -- and to great success:

"The campaign with Jason was a real success, as over 1.1 million people swiped right (meaning they liked him) in just three days.

"The company also claims that 14% of those that liked Jason also clicked the link in the profile, which brought them right to iTunes."

Upon the launch of what would be his latest Top 40 hit, Jason explained that his fans were clearly as into social media as much as they were new music, so he thought why not bring them the one through the other:

"I wanted to find a unique way to launch my video.

"I know my fans are tapped into social networking so what better way to launch my video?"

Despite the success of his new "Want to Want Me" music video, Derulo revealed in the April 27, issue of Star Magazine, he wasn't technically on Tinder just yet but did know at least a couple people that could help him out when he was finally ready:

"I haven't [used Tinder]. My cousins use it a lot.

"I see the fun they are having and I get jealous, so I get to experience it that way.

"But it isn't really right for me because of the nature of what I do."

Although his first song off the new album was about making the ladies want him, Derulo says the next hit "Get Ugly" will be about his less attractive moments:

"It's about the ugly face that you make when you hear that sick beat or something that just feels amazing.

"Just getting nasty and enjoying yourself."

Let's hope that "hear a sick beat" is a euphemism for something that is actually relatable.
