Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is a star player in the NFL, but he isn't feeling like that's how the team is valuing him. Ever since his reinstatement to the league after missing most of last season because of his incident with his son and a wooden switch, Peterson doesn't believe that the team is behind him. In fact, with the NFL draft around the corner rumor is that the Vikings could be looking to trade the 2,000 yard rusher, a move that would seem quite disrespectful.
The trade rumors are being denied from the Vikings, even though it looks like the team is ready to move on from his off-field issues. One of the teams that is involved in the speculated trade talks are the Dallas Cowboys, which is actually the destination of choice for the troubled player, CBS Sports says
"This doesn't mean Peterson doesn't want to be in Dallas. It's his top choice, as it should be the top choice for any running back from Texas. Or maybe anywhere. There's a great offensive line, a commitment to the run, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant to ease the pressure."
If this trade transpires, it wouldn't be the first time a blockbuster deal for a running back has happened between this two teams.
The Herschel Walker trade that sent the star running back from the Cowboys to the Vikings included a record 18 players and draft picks that eventually landed the Cowboys All-Time Leading Rusher Emmitt Smith.
Talking to the Pioneer Press, Walker says
"They should trade him because I think Adrian has lost his love for the Vikings with everything that went on last year,'' Walker said in a phone interview with the Pioneer Press. "There is a lot of bad blood right now. I think Adrian feels that (the Vikings) should have supported him throughout his tough time, and I think they should trade him if they can.''
Should the Vikings try and move on from Peterson and his antics by trying to trade him? Do you feel that Peterson has apologized and has been remorseful enough for the Vikings to keep him? Tell us what you think.
