Despite the fantastic news that one of your favorite shows from childhood is coming back for al least one more season, you probably shouldn't get too excited about the Netflix reboot of Full House just yet dudes. According to the latest gossip news updates, Netflix' new series, Fuller House, may pick up the original storyline a couple decades down the road, but it looks like many of the most memorable characters are possibly going to be absent from the final cast lineup. While Netflix is said to be still be trying to seal the deal with everyone from Bob Saget to Lori Laughlin, no one involved in the original TV show seems very confident that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be reprising their role, but that could have as much to do with the 28-year-olds having to share the part of Michelle as it does any hardball contract negotiations.
John Stamos may have just broke the news about the triumphant return of Full House on Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show yesterday, but Deadline seemed to already have most of the details about the Netflix reboot at the ready for publication:
"Netflix ordered a 13-episode season of a new multi-camera comedy from Warner Horizon Television, Miller-Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions.
"Created by original Full House creator Jeff Franklin, Fuller House will premiere exclusively across all Netflix territories in 2016.
While a lot of the broad strokes have already been decided, Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on the series, explained to Access Hollywood that most of the would-be cast has yet to agree to anything other than a drawn-out negotiation process (via People):
"They made deals with Candace [Cameron], Jodie [Sweetin], and Andrea [Barber].
"I believe they just closed [John Stamos'] deal.
"I don't have a deal. Dave doesn't have a deal, Bob -- we're all in negotiations.
"We would all like to come back, if the powers that be are fair to all of us."
When asked specifically about the prospects of Mark-Kate and Ashley Olsen returning to reprise their single role as Michelle Tanner, Lori explained that Netflix certainly was interested in having them back but doubted that it would seem very appealing to the twins today (via Us Weekly):
"It doesn't matter how much money they get paid, they don't care.
"I honestly don't know if they want to do it. I'm sure they're talking to them.
"I don't know what's going on there.
"Everyone would love it [if they came back], it would be really nice."
Who knows...maybe Olivier Sarkozy would love nothing more than to follow Mary-Kate down to the set to hear Bob Saget tell his well-polished dick and fart jokes around uber-christian and uncomfortable, Candace Cameron.
