Tonight, The CW’s Arrow is all new with the first of the final four episode of Season 3. Tonight, Thea “Speedy Queen (Willa Holland) gets brought back to life, after her brutal death at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Noble). Where that might normally sound like a major spoiler, those who are familiar with the show know that Lazarus Pits are coming into play this week. The Lazarus Pits can bring the dead back to life, but also, temporarily, drive them insane. Recently, Arrow boss Marc Guggenheim opened up about how the effects of the Pit will last well into Season 4.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Arrow, titled “The Fallen,” reads:
“Ra's al Ghul makes Oliver an offer he can't refuse. The team join Oliver on his journey to Nanda Parbat where a heartbroken Felicity decides to take matters into her own hands.”
It is no spoiler to say that Thea will be brought to life by the healing properties of the Lazarus Pit. However, that doesn’t mean that she will be the same old Speedy we know and love. The Lazarus Pit has a nasty way of messing with the minds of those it resurrects, and how could it not.
Recently, executive producer Marc Guggenheim spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about how the Lazarus Pit’s side effects will carry on into Season 4:
"Everything in the show has consequences, and that's something we've been consistent about. It's something you will continue to see not just through the end of season three, but into season four."
