Tonight, The Flash is all new with another Arrow crossover episode, leading up to what is bound to be an epic Season 1 finale. Both shows will spin-off into a third series, starring Arrow’s Atom, Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), original Black Canary, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), and The Flash’s Heat Wave Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), Captain Cold, Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Firestorm, Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber). Now, original Flash actor John Wesley Shipp may let the name of the series slip, referring to the DC Comics team-up series as Legends. Could this mean that Darkseid is coming to the DC TV Universe?
The producers preview for tonight’s episode of The Flash, titled “Who is Harrison Wells?,”, reads (via Comingsoon.net):
“Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head to Starling City to continue their investigation of Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh). While in town, the duo enlists the help of Captain Lance (guest star Paul Blackthorne), and Cisco meets the Black Canary (guest star Katie Cassidy), who asks him for a favor. Meanwhile, back in Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) races to catch a meta-human named Hannibal Bates (guest star Martin Novotny) who can transform himself into every person he touches -- which includes Eddie (Rick Cosnett), Iris (Candice Patton), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and even The Flash.”
Recently, former Flash actor, turned Barry Allen’s father, John Wesley Shipp opened up to a Cape Comic-Con crowd about the upcoming superhero spin-off. While speaking Shipp referred to the new series as Legends, adding that 13 episodes have been ordered.
Legends is the name a DC Comics series from the 1980’s, involving Darkseid. However, the name is also being used by the TNT series, staring Game of Thrones vet Sean Bean, so it is likely that the name will be changed.
