You remember that old cliche about when it rains? Well fansboys/girls/persons are soon to be drenched in convention shows. Recently it was announced that Firefly vets Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion (Castle) were reuniting bring us Con Man. Shortly after Supernatural stars Richard Speight, Jr. (Gabriel/Loki) and Rob Benedict (Chuck/God) announced a similar project, Kings of Con. Now, outsiders might think that market can’t handle two crowdfunded convention shows, but true believers like us couldn't be more excited. This is also proven in the fact that internet rushed to fund both projects, sparking the release of new Kings of Con clip and trailer. Recently, we had the pleasure of speaking with Rob and Rich about their new project, and the possibility of a crossover with Con Man.
We recently spoke with Richard Speight, Jr about how Nathan Fillion & Alan Tudyk’s Con Man might affect the Kings of Con campaign:
“I think if there's enough room on TV and the web for more than one procedural, there is room for these shows as well. Because at the end of the day, Kings of Con isn’t solely a show about cons, it's a show about people. It's a show about characters, it's a character driven piece, and, firstmost, the characters that Rob and I play in it.
“The con world is the backdrop, and it's a fertile backdrop filled with very unique stories and adventures and situations that definitely inform the tone of the story….So, it is a world that we are steeped in and feel like there is ample material to create a lot of fun, funny heartfelt stories, and I don’t think that takes away from anyone else doing the same.”

Co-King Rob Benedict also opened up about the possibility of crosovering over with Con Man:
“We have talked about that idea. Again, I think we are far enough off that each project is trying to get going, but I think it would be great if both shows get going and start to build a following as independent series. I mean, how could you not have some sort of crossover. I mean, where we at least come across each other in the hallway at Comic-Con. I think it would be funny and interesting and kind of unique.”
Both Rob and Rich were very supportive of Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion, with Rob telling us, “I am personally a fan of both those guy’s work,” and Richard pointing out that their Supernatural pal, Felicia Day was also involved in Con Man.
