Carrie underwood might have saved her marriage to Nashville Predators husbands Mike Fisher by finally having his baby, but the American Idol star complained about how much she hated all the extra fat the entire time she was pregnant. According to the latest gossip news updates, however, the "How Great Thou Art" singer is having to postpone her weight loss journey at least until April by order of her personal trainer. Having just become a parent herself, Underwood is taking this time away from the gym to remind folks they need to listen to the lyrics of her song, "Little Toy Guns", as not to miss the message about family.
Unlike some of her fellow country music contemporaries "Something in the Water" singer, Carrie Underwood's fit frame has been as rock solid as her singing voice since she broke onto the Nashville scene as the winner of American Idol.
For her part, a pregnant Carrie also made no secret about wanting to get right back into shape as soon as physically possible, but according to her personal trainer Erin Opera, that may not be quite as soon as she thinks.
In a recent interview with Daily Mail, Opera explained that for the first 6-weeks Carrie would just focusing on eating right, and once her cardio and weight training routines were finally reintroduces it would have to be in small doses (via EnStarz):
"They would both start light.
"They wouldn't start a super intense weight workout or a super intense cardio workout.
"It's not all about being thin...I think it's about feeling good."
Besides, the extra time Carrie has outside of the gym frees up room in her schedule to think about the kind of mom she wants to be.
In a recent interview with CMT, Underwood explained that she had already starting exploring some of those thought and themes when she sat down to right the lyrics of "Little Toy Guns":
"If you didn't pay attention to the lyrics at all, you would just think, 'Wow, this is like a cool rockin' song,' but the lyrics are actually quite serious.
"The storyline is basically about a little girl who hears her parents arguing, and she -- in her words -- wishes that they were fake like plastic, like little toy guns and they didn't actually hurt and didn't hurt each other and didn't hurt her."
So remember the next time you are jamming along to Carrie Underwood's next hit single to listen for the words as well as the bad ass beats.
