Geek culture has never been more popular. Comic-Con, and other conventions like it, have become huge events, gather millions of attendees, all-star guest and major press coverage. However, you don’t have to have to attend to The NYC or San Diego Comic-con to get in onthe fun. New conventions are popping up all around in small towns all the time. These conventions, while small, give fans the chance to let their geeks fly. Like every other convention, fans cosplay as their favorite characters; buy, sell and trade comics; and everything else under Superman’s yellow sun. We got the chance to a few local conventions here in the great state of South Carolina, including the Sumter/Shaw Con, Captain's Con in Charleston, and the 2014 Xcon in Myrtle Beach. Check out the report below to see pics from the cons, as well a portion of our interview with Comic Book Men star Mike Zapcic.
