Xbox One, Microsoft’s follow up console to the Xbox 360, will be released later this year. While only the month has been confirmed, November, many industry analysts are suggesting that it will be on the 13 of the month.
The price of the unit has also been confirmed and has garnered some criticism. The system will start at $499, the most of any Xbox system. This came as a surprise to many, as it is 20% higher than its leading competitor, the PlayStation 4. PlayStation, up until now, has been known for their higher-than-average pricing module.
Microsoft is claiming that the device will boast both a cutting-edge design and cutting-edge technology. The company issued the following statement on their official webpage:

There are some notable changes to the system’s hardware as well. In terms of processing power, the console will boast an 8-core x86 processor, which should make alternating between apps and games seamless.
The system will also include an “HDMI Pass-Thru.” This will allow users to watch their cable or satellite service through the Xbox itself, eliminating the need to switch from one input to the other.
The device will also come preloaded with an ample amount of memory. 8GB of RAM and 500GB of hard drive come standard with each unit.
