Ernie Hudson Blasts Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot, Talks Winston Zeddemore Return In New Movie

Ernie Hudson will forever be remembered as Ghostbusters member Winston Zeddemore. However, Hudson isn’t so sure about the new Ghostbusters all-female reboot, but he is open to returning to the series.

****Ernie Hudson has recently changed his position on the Ghostbusters reboot, now that the cast has been announced, telling The Hollywood Reporter:

"Four fiercely funny, foxy, females busting ghosts ... phenomenal!"

Last year Ernie Hudson spoke with Daily Mail about the new all female Ghostbusters movie:

“I don’t think that’s what the fans want,' he said. 'Females like the film but it’s a boy’s film. So you can make an all-female cast but I don’t think that’s Ghostbusters.”

However, Hudson went on to add the he isn’t entirely against the idea:

“Don’t get me wrong I think females should be involved and we have female members of the team. 'It seems crazy to me but what do I know? If there’s an all-female one and it’s funny I’ll be laughing along with everybody else. But it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me as that version would have nothing to do with the other movies so why are would they even call it Ghostbusters?”

Still the actor has his reservations about the new movie:

“Adding a girl to the team is a good thing but to suddenly go all-girl I don’t know. It would be a totally different movie. I mean why not call it Girlbusters?

“You know if they made an all-girl ghostbuster team and version and asked me to be in it and the price is right I’m sure I’d be there as well. But if you ask me what I think of it I don’t think it’s a great idea.”

Hudson acconoliges that the original film means crosses streams for all ages:

“When I got together with the guys and started filming I knew it was going to be something special but I didn’t think it would have this sustaining power...There’s something about Ghostbusters that had this staying power and I think it has something to do with how it touched all age groups.”
