Meek Mill Rapper Dead, Lil Snupe Memorial Service Overflowing

Lil Snupe, a rapper discovered by Meek Mill, was pronounced dead on June 20. His memorial service, which was held on Saturday, was overflowing with attendees.

Lil Snupe, who called Louisiana home, was gunned down over a week ago. Police believe the shooter was Tony D. Holden, a 36-year-old man who is now in captivity.

News of the rappers death broke on AllHipHop:

"Now, I am hearing that he has been found dead. I don’t have a lot of details, but I heard he was shot by some haters. But, the young spitter is no longer here and slowing the the RIPs are rolling in."

Back in February of this year, Snupe caught up with MTV News and shared some insight into Mill and his relationship:

"He was in a van, they was finna pull off. And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me.”

While Meek discovered Snupe towards the end of 2012, he wasn’t officially introduced as part of the posse until April of this year. That’s when Meek went on record to the folks over at MTV:

"He was spittin' so much pain, he's from the south with a flow like an east coast guy," Meek said. "Like with that bounce flow, all over the place, he really can spit, and he was talking that talk that I can really relate to. I seen potential in him."

Lil Snupe was just 18-years-old.

Hundreds of people attended the teen's funeral, including Meek Mill. While he did not speak at the ceremony, he did offer a statement:

“I’m never one to talk (at funerals). I saw something in him. His demo tape spoke to me. I saw myself in him.”
