Over the past few years, Travis Pastrana and his Nitro Circus crew have taken off as some of motor-cross's top performers. Their highflying shenanigans are considered by many to be the modern version of the legendary Evil Knievel. In recent news, the circus confirmed an upcoming performance in April. However, the group was recently criticized by a multitude of fans after a show was rained out and refunds were blatantly denied. The show was supposed to have lasted 2 hours, but weather complications caused organizers to call it quits after only 45 minutes.
As most of you know, Nitro Circus is the brainchild of the legendary Travis Pastrana. Before his time as motor-junkie, Pastrana actually played quarterback for the University of Maryland.
After graduating, the superstar pursued his passion of motor-sports. Since then, he has stacked one the most impressive list of accomplishments ever seen.
He has excelled in many different types of racing, and his diverse set of skills seems to grow everyday. In the end, though, he made his climb to superstardom with the popular MTV show Nitro Circus.
Now, Pastrana and his Nitro buddies are known across the world, and fans can't seem to get enough.
According to a report by Daily Mercury, another live performance is set to take place:
"DEATH-DEFYING motorcycle stunts will hit Stadium Mackay in April...Nitro Circus is bringing its band of crazy cats for the action-packed extravaganza...The show is the brainchild of action star Travis Pastrana. Organizer Mike Porra said his crew was excited about visiting the region...Porra said it would be the biggest production to visit Mackay...The show includes more than 50 performers and 130 crewmembers, and 16 trucks to haul the equipment...Nitro Circus has more than six million Facebook likes, DVD series, television shows and movies about its exploits."
True, their fan base was massive. However, according to Stuff.co, a recent controversy caused by Nitro might have changed things:
"Disgruntled daredevil fans are demanding refunds after a performance by Nitro Circus in Auckland was stopped around 45 minutes into the show because of rain...Tickets to [the freestyle motocross, BMX and skating extravaganza at QBE Stadium in Albany would not be refunded, promoter Mike Porra said...Tickets cost from $99 to $150 for the approximately two-hour show."
