Danica Patrick Fights for 21st Place at Daytona 500 After Ads for Publicly Traded GoDaddy

In the eyes of many, GoDaddy spokesperson Danica Patrick has single handedly brought back interest in racing and NASCAR. Even though she has never really dominated with her performances, she still remains a fan favorite. In recent news, Patrick placed 21st in the Daytona 500. To some this isn't anything special, but Patrick and her team have shown that she is not willing to back down from a tough fight.

In 1992, Danica got her first taste of racing with go-karting in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Her official racing career didn't start until 2004 when she rode Rahal Letterman Racing in the IRL Indycar Series.

Three short years later, she started her infamous partnership with GoDaddy. Since then, her sexy Super Bowl ads and powerful NASCAR presence has made the Danica Patrick a household name. According to ESPN, she recently showed that she is more than a figurehead or a pretty face:

"Danica Patrick's 21st-place finish in Sunday's Daytona 500 might be viewed as a ho-hum result offering little hope for the jump in performance she is looking for in her third full season ... But take everything into account and the Speedweeks showing by Patrick and her 10 Stewart-Haas Racing team appears to bode well for America's most watched female driver ... Patrick and her reconfigured team showed they're coming to the track to fight."

Speaking of GoDaddy, the company's increasing popularity has led to massive opportunities from a business standpoint. Reported on by USA Today, a lot of this can be contributed to Danica's success:

"GoDaddy, the online service that helps people and businesses set up Web sites, took another step to becoming a publicly traded company Tuesday ... The company filed an updated registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission for its upcoming expected initial public offering. The company says it plans to trade under the symbol GDDY ... GoDaddy will likely be a much-anticipated offering since it's a household name. The company has built its brand name with Super Bowl commercials — and sponsorship of female racer Danica Patrick."
