After Attempted Suicide, Slint Guitarist David Pajo is On His Way to Recovery

It may have just been his saving grace. When David Pajo posted a lengthy and detailed suicide note to his blog last week the Slint guitarist made a public bid at his life. Thankfully, though, Pajo was taken to a local hospital and has since been on his way to recovery.

Pajo writes that an extra marital affair and ensuing divorce were the cause for his attempted suicide. With a legal battle in the midst, Pajo told his followers "this is where [his] story ends."

According to Brooklyn Vegan, EMS intervened in time and reports began to circulate on Feb. 13 that Pajo was in recovery and doing fine. He even posted a photo to his Instagram with a convincing "thumbs-up" to confirm that he is indeed doing well.

A message was also posted to his official Facebook page that reads, "There will be things said about our friend David in the press these coming days and he'll need our love and support. Feel free to comment here. Thank you."

As well as performing with Slint, Pajo has maintained prolificacy with other acts like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, Tortoise, Stereolab and Zwan. He's also performed with Bonnie "Prince" Billy and Royal Trux along with releasing a series of solo records under various monikers.

Our thoughts are with Pajo and his family.
