It has been a while since Classicalite has posted about New York City alt-rockers Interpol, but with appearances on Letterman, Seth Meyers and Jools Holland, Paul Banks and Co. made another round to Conan.
Performing "My Desire" from their latest disc El Pintor, the group showed up in none other than their slick suits and coiffed hair-doos. With some positive reception, the group has been more relevant than ever.
Coming off a hiatus, many doubted the success that would follow the band's most recent LP. But after some solid appearances, including one at the Temple of Dendur inside The Metropolitan Museum of Art, their has not been much to stop their unwavering comeback.
After losing bassist Carlos Dengler, the group may have fallen into a rut, needing time apart to come back and reconvene on what would become Pintor. Not including their widely praised Antics, a series of releases did not take with their audience.
It may have been a dark period for the band, but they have come back with more ferocity than ever, proving to everyone that the word hiatus is no hindrance on their sonic integrity.
For now, check out the band below on Conan and be sure to pick up a copy of El Pintor if you have not already.
