In continuing support of their latest LP, El Pintor, Interpol has released the uniquely personal music video for the single "Twice as Hard."
Just as would expect with Interpol, the video — which is directed by lead singer Paul Banks — is abstract, cryptic, minimal, and yet uncharacteristically deep and central to their sound.
The video features various boxers training and sparring, slipping between slow motion shots and close-ups. Much in the same vein as their latest disc, the single also rings out almost like a jazz-infused doldrums.
Powerful and riveting, the song and video mesh well with the aesthetic and mission of the band.
Their latest album was released on Sept. 9 and has received a largely positive reception. Despite their long hiatus and loss of bassist Carlos Dengler, the band hasn't had trouble finding their sonic value once again.
But enough with the copy, instead check out the new music video below.
