Patti Murin, who played Anna in the Broadway version of "Frozen," recently revealed that her four-year-old daughter, Cecily, has developed a preference for the character Elsa instead.
Murin explained in an interview with People magazine that for three years, she tried to encourage Cecily to enjoy "Frozen."
However, the tide turned when Cecily turned four, and she confidently declared, "I think I'm Elsa."
During the conversation with the publication on the opening night of the Broadway show "Gypsy," featuring Audra McDonald, Murin responded to her daughter's newfound preference with a simple, "Oh, okay."
She humorously acknowledged that it's accurate to say she is the Anna to Cecily's Elsa, adding that Cecily's younger sister also has a little Anna within her.
The 44-year-old stage actress has two daughters, Cecily and 20-month-old Lorelai, with her husband, Colin Donnell. She commented on how unique her girls are, saying they are "so different, but so similar," and she affectionately called them "the best."
Along with her newfound love for "Frozen," Cecily also has a talent for singing, a passion that she clearly got from her mom.
Murin expressed pride in Cecily's singing abilities, sharing that her daughter "loves singing" and "she can sing."
While discussing their family and careers, both Murin and Donnell also revealed their dream roles on Broadway.
Murin wanted to star in a "revisal revival" of "Annie Get Your Gun," stressing the need to address some of the outdated elements in the original production, particularly its racial themes.
She stated, "A revisal revival, because it needs to take out a lot of the racism. But yes, I think Annie Oakley in a new production would be my absolute dream."
Meanwhile, Donnell shared his aspirations as well, expressing a long-standing interest in performing in "Singin' in the Rain."
He declared, "I've always wanted to do Singin' in the Rain."
