Patriots Rob Gronkowski 'Dancing With the Stars,' Jerod Mayo Cut or Traded? [RUMORS]

The Patriots are currently in the spotlight after their recent Super Bowl victory. Several New England players have elevated to an "A-list" level of celebrity. Rob Gronkowski is, unmistakably, one of those athletes. In recent news, Gronk proclaimed his interest in performing on the popular program, Dancing With the Stars. Other news from the Patriots' camp involves their superstar linebacker, Jerod Mayo, and whether or not he will be cut or traded before next season.

The Patriots are one of the original teams of the American Football League. They changed their name from the Boston Patriots to the New England Patriots after the NFL and the AFL merged in the 1970's.

Since then, they have proven themselves as one of the most successful teams in professional sports. This year's impressive, and some would say lucky, victory over the Seattle Seahawks skyrocketed their fame to a whole new level.

In turn, several of the team's top players, have become infamous.

Every passing day, the public falls deeper and deeper in love with Rob Gronkowski. According to TMZ Sports, Gronk recently made it known that he is not opposed to competing on Dancing With the Stars:

"Rob Gronkowski [said] he's definitely thinking about doing Dancing with the Stars one day...but says he's worried that formal training will RUIN his trademark skills. Gronk was out in NYC this weekend...where he broke SEVERAL pieces of big news, including...Did he nail that hot local reporter on Valentine's Day?...He's been training teammate Chandler Jones to fight his brother Jon 'Bones' Jones
and He NEVER wants to leave the New England Patriots."

This is not only strand of drama to unravel out of New England over the past few days. In fact, Musketfire has even suggested that Jerod Mayo's future with the championship team is uncertain:

"Jerod Mayo is a top-notch linebacker, he might be an even better leader, and everybody on the New England Patriots loves him to death. The only problem is he is in a tricky situation with his salary heading into 2015, and as it sits right now, he is a prime candidate to get cut...Mayo is scheduled to make $7.25 million in 2015, but his cap hit is a whopping $10.4 million. That currently puts him only behind Darrelle Revis and Tom Brady."
