The Baltimore Ravens have always been known for their dominating defense. A consistent contribution to that is the team's brute-like outside linebacker, Terrell Suggs. In recent news, Suggs has entered into a lawsuit with his former agent who died in 2011. He says that, since the agent, Gary Wihcard, died, he can no longer hold up his end of the contract. True, Suggs might draw the Ravens some unwanted attention from time to time. Yet, after looking at Terrell's long list of achievements, one can see why Baltimore puts up with it.
Before his time as a professional, Suggs played defensive end for the University of Arizona. During that time he was a first-team All-Pac-10 selection and the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. More importantly, he was unanimously recognized as first-team All-American.
His standout abilities and consistent performances earned him a tenth overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens during the 2003 NFL Draft. Since then, Suggs has attended six Pro-Bowls, and he was named NFL Defensive player of the year in 2011.
According to the Baltimore Ravens, Terrell's list doesn't stop there:
"[Suggs is a] Ravens all-time leader in sacks (84.5) and sack yardage (-625) He also owns the Ravens' record for FFs (29) and is second in FRs (11) Suggs produced a single-season franchise-record 7 FFs in 2011. His 682 tackles (461 solo) are third most in Ravens history, and he Owns 49 PD and 7 INTs (2 returned for TDs - both in 2008) [Impressively] He tallied a franchise-rookie-record 12 sacks..."
In light of this information, it makes since why the Ravens offices are willing to look the other way at times. According to TMZ Sports, they will probably roll with the punches and deal with Suggs recent lawsuit scandal:
"NFL stud Terrell Suggs is suing his former agent...who died in 2011...claiming he shouldn't have to keep paying commission from his $62 million contract. He's been useless ever since he passed away...Suggs sued the estate of former super agent Gary Wichard ... the guy who negotiated Terrell's mega-contract with the Baltimore Ravens in 2009. Suggs says he was obligated to pay Wichard 3% of his salary for the entirety of his deal -- but in exchange, Wichard's agency would actively manage his career..."
