Elton John and Billy Joel have been feuding for quite some time now. The two have recently made up, making many critics wonder if the two will soon team up. Will Billy play on Elton's new album...Will Elton go on tour with Billy?
While there are no official statements from either party's camp, Classicalite thinks there is a huge possibility--especially if history is any guide.
The two used to be so enamoured with one another that they toured together. Joel was so pleased with John's performance that he bought the superstar a motorcycle after their last tour.
Since that time, things have grown sour for the two lovebirds. In 2011, John gave a shocking interview to Rolling Stones.
The "Rocket Man" singer went on record about his relationship with Billy Joel, commenting on the performer's life:
"At the end of the day, he's coasting. I always say, 'Billy, can't you write another song?' It's either fear or laziness. It upsets me. Billy's a conundrum. We've had so many cancelled tours because of illnesses and various other things, alcoholism."
Joel, too, went on record, responding to the comments of John:
"That's his opinion. I don't [write new songs] because I don't wanna. He tends to shoot off his mouth - he shoots from the hip. I think his heart is in the right place. Maybe he's trying to motivate me, to get me mad or sometime. He's kind of like a mom."
Soon after that exchange, the two parted ways. That was, until Thursday, where the two appeared to make up.
Both artists attended the prestigious Songwriter's Hall of Fame celebration. And, in what seemed to be a spontaneous act, they addressed one another from the podium.
First Elton:
"I didn't see you tonight, Mr. Joel, but I want to see you."
Then Joel:
"Is Elton still here, by the way? Anyway, we're OK. Call me. It's the same phone number."
