Those of you that enjoy Jack Johnson lyrics can soon catch him on tour. He will be replacing Mumford and Sons at Bonnaroo, while their bassist recovers.
Rock group Mumford and Sons has had to cancel multiple tour dates in recent days. Their bassist, Ted Dwayne, is still recovering from emergency brain surgery.
Dwayne, who appeared to be in great health, quickly fell ill. The musician and vocalist felt so poor, that he checked himself into a hospital. After running multiple scans, doctors located a blood clot in the young man's brain.
As a result, Mumford had to cancel many of their upcoming gigs, including Bonnaroo, one of America's largest musical festivals.
This was a huge upset to the Grammy award winning artists. They issued the following statement earlier today:
"If we could've we would've, you know that about us. We trust that you can respect our collective desire to encourage Ted to make a full recovery, and that this is based purely on the medical advice we have received."
The festival, which is quickly approaching, worked overtime to find a replacement. Sources reveal that the festival reached out to two different artists: Jack Johnson and Darius Rucker.
Rucker, who is currently on tour, could not make the appearance. Luckily for Bonnaroo and its attendees, Jack Johnson stepped up to the plate.
Johnson, who has played at e festival numerous times, issued the following statement:
"I've got a lot of lyrics and chords to relearn by Saturday night. I was here to play the first Bonnaroo and it is a very special festival to my band. We are excited to hit the stage again."
