Now that Russian cosmonaut and former boy band member Lance Bass is married to the love of his life, Michael Turchin, and their gay wedding is set to be the first of its kind to air on national television, the NYSNC singer is happier than ever. According the latest gossip news updates, the LBGTQ rights pioneer claims the only reason he came out when he did, however, was because Perez Hilton's tabloid journalism forced him to do so. Justin Timerlake's bestie explained that he wasn't really given much choice in the matter thanks to the Celebrity Big Brother villain's constant harassment.
Lance Bass seems more than satisfied in his role as first openly gay NSYNC member and LBGTQ rights advocate, but the newly married reality star doesn't seem to have quite forgiven Perez Hilton for starting the firestorm that eventually forced him to come out of the closet back in 2006.
During a recent interview with Attitude magazine, Lance explains that regardless of where he is today, Perez' bullying was unacceptable (via Daily Mail):
"Two years before I came out I was really bullied on the internet by bloggers, that's when Perez Hilton just started and was just really malicious against me.
"So, because of the bloggers like him hounding me, all the other magazines started calling me and saying, 'Look, we know you're gay, you can write the story with or without us, but we have to write it.'"
While Lance understandably felt violated by the invasion of his privacy at that time, Bass had no problem letting it all hang out during E!'s recent taping of his bachelor party for their Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding special:
"I'm actually really glad we did a joint bachelor party, because I want to have fun with him!
"Now, if we get pulled away on the side, we're still allowed to look and touch, right?"
And even though he's lost all that weight since then, Perez Hilton still wasn't invited...so there.
