Lil Wayne New Album and Lyrics Could Suffer Because of Drugs, Former Hot Boy Turk Claims

Lil Wayne's new album, and many of its lyrics, may suffer because of his alleged drug use. Turk, a one-time member of Hot Boys, makes that assertion in a interview with All Hip Hop.

Turk and Lil Wayne haven't seen each other for quite some time, though the two worked extensively together in the rap group Hot Boys.

Turk just concluded a nine-year prison sentence for attempted murder. Luckily, Turk totally found God in prison, and is now doing a series of interviews to Christian publications. Yay!

Lil Wayne, of course, has served his post-Hot Boys time a little differently. He went on to become one of the most successful rappers in history.

The two's rapping styles couldn't possibly be more different. Here are Turk's freestyle lyrics, again, in the same All Hip Hop interview:

"Church isn't just the building, though. / Church is in your heart. / It's in saying my prayers, and reading my Word every morning I wake up, and me and my girl, we pray together, ya know. / They say a family that prays together stays together."

Now, here is some Weezy. See if you, Classicalites, can spot the difference:

"I live it up like these are my last days.

If time is money,

I'm an hour past paid.

Ugh, gunpowder in my hourglass,

nigg@$ faker than some flour in a powder bag."

When asked if he believed Lil Wayne was on drugs, Turk responded thusly:

"The only thing I can say on that situation is when you under the influence of anything that's altering your mind, anything out loud will come out your mouth. It's those drugs that's overpowering you, it's those spirits overpowering you."
