Legendary singer Debbie Harry of Blondie will be adding two additional shows to her currently sold out Café Carlyle debut the upcoming March.
Though Harry is known as the tour-de-force behind the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Blondie, she has a pretty prolific solo career. Never one to settle or get boring, Harry has performed along alongside Marina Abramovic's performance art, collaborated with New York avant-garde ensemble the Jazz Passengers; sang on recordings by Nick Cave and Moby, among others; been featured in more than 30 films including David Cronenberg’s Videodrome and John Waters’ Hairspray; and has appeared on television programs including Will and Grace, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Absolutely Fabulous. She is known for her energry, creative spirit and wide range of interest.
Harry is just one in a long list of amazing performers offered at the Carlyle this season. Woody Allen has been doing regular Monday night performance at the cabaret with The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band. Singer Cheyenne Jackson has recently finished his stint followed by iconic singer Bettye LaVette, who is currently in her two-week run. Later performances include Buster Poindexter of New York Dolls fame, Alexa Ray Joel and Herb Albert & Lani Hall.
Harry’s two week run will be March 24 through April 4, with her additional performance taking place on March 28 and April 3. For more information about Harry’s appearance or other performance taking place at Café Carlyle, visit their website here.
