‘The Help’ Jessica Chastain Slams Russell Crowe after Anti-Feminist Movie Comments Draw Backlash [VIDEO UPDATE]

Right now there are tons of intellectuals and women's rights zealots lambasting Russell Crowe's recent comments that a woman's age doesn't affect her getting roles in Hollywood, but that hasn't stopped The Help actress, Jessica Chastain from also weighing in on the controversy. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Zero Dark Thirty knock-out isn't calling for the Gladiator star to be water-boarded -- just ignored. Not only is his personal reputation taking a hit, some leading scholars are calling the historical inaccuracy of Crowe's new movie, The Water Diviner, so negligent that it is "silly".

While Hollywood icons like Gina Davis have been trying to draw attention to the plight of nonexistent movie roles for aging starlets, Australian treasure, Russell Crowe, recently insisted that the parts have always been there for the pragmatists willing to take them (via NY Post):

"The best thing about the industry I'm in -- movies -- is that there are roles for people in all different stages of life.

"To be honest, I think you'll find that the woman who is saying that [the roles have dried up] is the woman who at 40, 45, 48, still wants to play the ingénue and can't understand why she's not being cast as the 21-year-old."

Jessica Chastain is just one of countless celebrities that apparently find Crowe's comments to be absolutely ridiculous.

In the latest January 25, issue of Life & Style Magazine, Jessica implied that Russell's remarksonly served to insult his own already questionable intelligence:

"Russell is getting his foot stuck in his mouth!

"There are some incredible actresses in the 50's and 60's that aren't getting opportunities in film, and for someone to say there are plenty of roles for women that age is not someone who is going to the movie theater!"

According to leading Australian World War I historian Dr. Peter Stanley, Crowe should probably get used to people making fun of his cognitive ability after seeing his latest film, The Water Diviner.

The former head of Historical Research and Principal Historian at the Australian War Memorial recently concluded that movie seemed to lack any firm basis in reality once moving past the fact the World War I was a conflict that actually happened (via Asbarez):

"Just about everything else in The Water Diviner is made up and not very convincingly either...This is basically a silly film, full of impossibilities, and isn't worth the attention it's getting."

Which leads everyone to beg the question: When is Russell Crowe going to be too old to get onther job in Hollywood?
