It is true that few of the people alive at the beginning of the traditional storytelling of the Bible's flood narrative live to see the end of it, but cast members Emma Watson and Ray Winstone probably didn't expect to almost be killed themselves during the filming of their new movie Noah. Russell Crowe made social media news by spamming the Pope's feed with requests that he watch the Old Testament based flick.
Russell Crowe has no problem asking christ's holy vicar to get off his throne and go see his new blockbuster Noah.
Pope Francis is no doubt use to receiving requests at @Pontifex from famous celebs, as well as your everyday Joes, but that really doesn't make it okay to blow them man's stuff up with a bunch of bullmess about your work (via Washington Post).
That is exactly what Russel Crowe did last month though; Mr. Crowe sent god's representative on earth 5 different tweets telling ole Frank that he should check out his latest project:
"Dear Holy Father @Pontifex, would you like to see @DarrenAronofsky film #NOAH ? I am sure you would find it fascinating.
"Dear Holy Father @Pontifex @Pontifex_it @DarrenAronofsky #Noah film. Screening? The message of the film is powerful , fascinating, resonant.
"Villagers, given his environmental focus/scholarly knowledge ,trying to screen #Noah for Pope Francis. @Pontifex You help? retweet previous.
"Dear Holy Father @Pontifex , Sorry that I have caused havoc in your social media world. Seriously though, #Noah the movie will fascinate you.
"Holy Father @Pontifex , it would be my deepest pleasure to bring the @DarrenAronofsky film to you to screen. That this may happen Inshallah"
In where?
Emma Watson revealed in her guest editor's edition of Wonderland that she and Ray Winstone suffered terribly under Darren Aronofsky's direction.
After Emma become violently ill due to Darren's ridiculous ban on bottles of water, and when she let the director know the condition she was in, he forced her to work anyway claims the star (via Daily Mail):
"After [Watson] told Darren she was 'really sick', he told her to use it for the scene.
"'I was so ill...I turned round to the bus and was like: 'Is he joking? and there was deadly silence.'"
According to Emma's co-star, Ray Winstone didn't fair too much better in the summer heat, than she did with the lack of clean drinking water.
Watson claims in Wonderland that, not only did Aronofsky's slave driving leave her as sick as she's ever been; it also almost cost Ray Winstone his life (via Star):
"We started filming in the summer in New York. It was so hot that Ray Winstone at one point, who wore a beard and heavy make-up, nearly fell down a flight of stairs. His make-up was literally melting off his face."
Talk about sacrificing for you craft...yikes.
