Miami Heat center and power forward Chris Anderson has had a diverse and wide stretching career in basketball. In one interview, the superstar discussed his tattoos and how being famous has its benefits. Unfortunately, Anderson might need to watch what he says, because even though he delivered good percentages in recent games, reports are saying that his starting position might soon be contested.
In his life, Anderson has been all over the world. Originally, he reigns from Long Beach, California, but he actually grew up in Lola Texas. While in Texas, he played college ball for Blinn College.
He first got his start in professional basketball with the Chinese Basketball Association.
He didn't make it over to the NBA until 2001 when he was brought on to the Denver Nuggests. All in all, Anderson's time in the NBA has earned him a certain level of notoriety, and according to TMZ Sports, Chris enjoys the benefits that fame brings him:
"More than half his body's covered in tats...which can cost a FORTUNE...but NBA stud Chris Andersen [says] he hasn't paid a single cent for any of his artwork. So, how did Birdman get the low, low price of 'on the house' when it comes to his ink? 'I'm a walking billboard,' Andersen says. We're guess what he means is ... tattoo artists LOVE having their work displayed on a 6'10", 245-pound canvas that gets seen by millions and millions of people every week. Translation -- it pays to be famous...so you don't have to pay..."
It is understandable why Anderson would enjoy his time in the league.
However, Rotoworld has suggested that even though Anderson is playing well, his current starting position with the Heat might not last:
"Chris Andersen held his starting job throughout Tuesday's loss in L.A., finishing with 12 points, eight boards, one assist, three blocks and zero turnovers. He made 5-of-6 FGs and 2-of-2 FTs in 27 minutes of action, but his starting job is being imminently threatened by Hassan Whiteside. He's only on the radar as a rebounds and FG% specialist in deep leagues."
