Steve Austin may be retired from wrestling, but he is still a household name in the homes of fans everywhere. Even though he doesn't crush bones as Stone Cold on WWE anymore, he is still finding ways to break skulls. In fact, Austin's new CMT show, Broken Skull Challenge just premiered. Steve is clearly still doing really well for himself, because this program joins Redneck Island as Austin's second show on the network.
Austin first gained mainstream attention as the rude, beer drinking badass with the WWF. He was known for his rebellious ways and his continued defiance of the legendary Vince McMahon.
The brute won a total of 21 Championships throughout his career but was forced to retire in 2003 after injuries and complications. Yet, Stone Cold was not ready to take retirement lying down.
Instead, he started one of wrestling's most successful podcasts. Also, the former champ is very prevalent on primetime television. According to Entertainment Weekly, Austin's new show will be rough and challenging:
"If you are fan of grunting, sweating, and hardbodies crashing into each other, Steve Austin has a show for you. After hosting Redneck Island on CMT for three seasons, the WWE Hall of Famer takes the reins-and ropes-of another reality competition on the network: Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge, which 'makes CrossFit look like a yoga retreat,' says the Stone Cold one himself."
People who watch country music channel and wrestling fans cannot get enough of Stone Cold. According to CMT, Austin has figured out the recipe to delicious southern fried television:
"Redneck Island, CMT's ultimate competition series, is returning for a fourth season and promises to be rowdier than ever with a hot new co-host and even hotter new twist. Country singer-songwriter and TV personality Jessie James Decker joins wrestling icon Steve Austin as masters of ceremonies on the island tucked away at a lake in North Georgia. The ultimate redneck competition series where time spent partying is just as important as time spent competing."
