Today...Bach, "Adagio" from Concerto #3, BWV 974
Alexandre Tharaud proves capable and cantabile enough here, even if Bach probably never wanted any "adagio" this slow. (Same for Tharaud's instrument, itself.) With so many other "Adagios" from which to choose, though, kudos to Mrs. James for keeping it Brandenburg. Christian never comes off as Sam Barber man.
