Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album - 'Lakmé' (Act I), "Flower Duet" (15x50)

Going track-by-track, in 50 words or less, through all 15 of E.L. James' favorite classical music.

Today...Lakmé (Act I), "Flower Duet."

Sopranos Danielle Millet and Mady Mesplé, as Lakmé and her servant Mallika, duet finely here on the standout number from Delibes' standout opera. It's interesting that James chose "Flowers" over Act II's "Bells." Unlike Ana, though, Lakmé goes on to kill herself in Act III. Sous le dôme épais, indeed.
