‘Into the Woods’ Prince Chris Pine Talks ‘Star Trek 3’ Without J.J. Abrams: Slams ‘Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit’

Chris Pine is one of the fastest rising stars in Hollywood theses days. Pine can currently be seen as Prince Charming in Disney’s Into the Woods. Before that he starred in the hit comedy Horrible Bosses 2. However, he hit the year off with a bit a disappointment. The Rise of the Guardians star recently opened up about his biggest regret of the year, Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit. He also opened up about returning the Enterprise for Star Trek 3 without director J.J.Abrams.

Recently, Chris Pine spoke to Moviefone about if he plans to return to the Jack Ryan franchise:

“No. I don't think it made enough money for that to happen. That's one of my deep regrets, that we didn't totally get that right. It's a great franchise and if it's not me then I hope it gets a fifth life at this point. It's just great. I love the spy genre. I hope it's done again and with a great story.”

Pine also opened up about the future of the Star Trek film series:

"With 'Trek,' I don't know. I think we're shooting next year. I don't know anything about the story but I haven't read the script. I am pretty sure there is a script but I haven't read it yet."

Pine went on to add that he is excited to take the helm of the Enterprise once again, even without J.J.Abrams:

“I mean, I just want to see my friends, I want to work with my friends. We have such a great time together. I can't wait to see what ridiculousness they throw us into. But above and beyond anything, they're just a great bunch. We laugh a lot.”

Do you want to see Chris Pine reprise his role as Jack Ryan? Who would you want to replace him? Are you sad to see J.J.Abrams leave the Star Trek films? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
