K-Pop Top Producer Brave Brothers Comes to US; Records with YG, Eric Bellinger; In Talks with Nelly, Cee Lo Green and DJ Mustard

Brave Brothers, one of the top K-Pop producers, is expanding his repertoire to stateside acts, like YG, DJ Mustard and Nelly.

Brave Brothers, whose real name is Kang Dong-chul has already completed studio sessions with popular rapper YG, who is currently signed to Def Jam Records and "Awkward" singer Eric Bellinger, according to Damuer H. Leffridge. Leffridge is managing partner at Popular Music Group and helped connect K-pop girl group T-ara N4 to open a Chris Brown concert last year.

Leffridge seems to be the man who had connections between U.S. and Korean relationships. He told Billboard that composer/songwriter Brave Brothers met Cee Lo Green — but did not record with him — and is in talks to connect with DJ Mustard and Nelly, too. The exec has been posting pictures from all the Los Angeles meetings.

Originally a producer and composer for YG Entertainment — which houses Psy, Big Bang, 2ne1 1 and more — Brave Brothers has become one of K-pop's go-to producers, crafting hits for BigBang, HyunA, Sistar, After School, Teen Top and more. Famous for his pop-meets-hip-hop, percussion-heavy beats, the producer/songwriter earned three No. 1s on the K-Pop Hot 100 last year via Hyolyn's "One Way Love" and 4Minute's "What's Your Name?," along with the overall No. 1 K-Pop song of 2013 with Sistar19's "Gone Not Around Any Longer.”

Brave Brother's agency, Brave Entertainment, said, "During their current visit to the U.S., Brave Brothers is discussing work on rapper YG's 2015 album."

Aside from Brave Brothers's recent music business, a new Brave building was established and, now, Brave Entertainment will be reaching out into the global hip-hop market.
