It's the close of another year, and for the first time in a very long while, Apple seems a bit up in the air. Analysts have varying opinions as to how many units the new Apple Watch (dubbed the iWatch by the press) will actually sale. Meanwhile, more comparisons are being drawn between Apple's iPhone 6 and Samsung's S5.
Samsung's Galaxy S5 and the Apple iPhone 6 have been compared to one another more than either tech giant would probably like, however, there is one area where a device stands out.
Though the S5 may have sacrificed a little style to do so, Gordon Kelly of Forbes thinks that the Galaxy S5 possesses a truly remarkable feature:
"[Samsung S5] is both water and dust resistant with IP67 certification. Most usefully this means the Galaxy S5 can be left in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. An ugly plastic flap on the power port must be shut for this, but it remains a major feather in the cap for the S5. Not only is it great for protecting against water damage that would kill the iPhone 6, but it is remarkably liberating being able to answer a phone call or adjust your music in the shower!"
It's unclear who, in the end, will win between the two tech juggernauts. One deciding factor, however, may be Apple's upcoming product line, the Apple Watch.
This device marks Apple's first entry into the wearable tech sphere, where Samsung already has several successful product lines.
This has a number of analysts, as Business Insider reveals, unsure of the Apple Watches' sales potential:
"The Apple Watch is a real mystery. Nobody has a strongly convincing opinion on how's it going to do...Analysts are all over over the map. Gene Munster thinks Apple will sell just 10 million units. Katy Huberty at Morgan Stanley thinks Apple will sell 30 million units. Apple has reportedly ordered 30-40 million units...Part of the reason that people have questions about the Apple Watch is that Apple's announcement for it was unfocused."
What do you think about the latest reports? Will you be buying an Apple Watch? Who wins in your book, the iPhone or the Galaxy?
