TNA Star AJ Styles Says He is NOT Coming Back to WWE; ;'The Phenomenal One' Contradicts Previous Statement

TNA's AJ Styles is considered the baddest free agent on the wrestling market right now. In the past, he said he wouldn't mind doing a main event run with the WWE. Now, recent reports are saying that Styles has changed his story, and is no longer interested in associating with the failing network.

Allen Neal Jones, a.k.a. AJ Styles, is best known for his work in Total Non-stop Action Wrestling (TNA). While with TNA, he won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice. Also, he has won seven tag team titles during his career.

However, since his contract ended in 2013 he has been performing with Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. In an interview earlier this year, AJ said he wouldn't mind working with the WWE again. According to WhatCulture, Styles will do whatever it takes to pay the bills:

"Sure (I'd like to work for WWE). I mean, this is a job: this is what I do for a living. Its not about being on TV every week or whatever, its about making sure I can pay the bills. Of course, a main event run (even a short one) with the world's biggest and most prominent wrestling promotion would probably pay a heck of a lot of bills."

Now, however, it seems Styles is singing a different tune. According to Cage Side Seats, AJ thinks he could do better outside the WWE's failing environment:

"Ever since his departure from TNA, AJ Styles has been pretty vocal about being able to make more money with New Japan, Ring of Honor (ROH) and generally taking his own bookings on the independent circuit...Why would I want to go to WWE? I mean honestly... They're struggling right now with the Network...I'm in the hottest wrestling company in the world-New Japan-and I'm with the hottest wrestling group. We can say it over and over again. It's absolutely true."

So for you AJ Styles fans out there, it looks like you will have to go somewhere other than the WWE to find him. What are your thoughts and opinions? Let us know in the comment section below.
