Ariana Grande has had one hell of a year in 2014. The former Victorious starlet left Nickelodeon behind for super stardom. However, Grande faced her fair share of shade this year, including an alleged feud with her former Sam & Cat co-star Jennette McCurdy, and an out of nowhere diss from former Blossom actress, Mayim Bialik. However, it is her odd feud with legendary singer, Bette Midler that is in the spotlight this week. Recently, Midler called out the young starlet for “slithering” her way to the top. The pair allegedly made up but Bette’s recent no show at this past weekend’s Billboard Women Rising Star event, has left some wondering if the feud is back on.
“It’s terrible! It’s always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch. Looking so ridiculous. I mean, it’s silly beyond belief and I don’t know who’s telling her to do it. I wish they’d stop. But it’s not my business, I’m not her mother. Or her manager. Maybe they tell them that’s what you’ve got to do. Sex sells. Sex has always sold.”
Grande’s response was actually pretty classy, addressing the diss on twitter:
Bette seeing the error of her ways, latter issued a sort of a halfway apology, writing on her Twitter:
“About my screed on @ArianaGrande, all I can say is, ‘Spoken like a reformed old whore! She does have a beautiful voice, on a couch or off.’”
Bette was scheduled to deliver Grande the Billboard Rising Star award this Friday, but no showed due to an alleged illness.
