It would seem that more than just Val Chmerkovskiy and Janel Parrish's relationship is over following this year's Dancing with the Stars finale. According to the latest gossip news updates, Maksim's little brother and the Pretty Little Liar's rumored romance is all but over, now that there is nothing really in it for Val. Sadly, veterans Cheryl Burke and Len Goodman are also ending their relationships with the TV show. Goodman, now 70-years-old, says he is ready to split and go back to working in just one country -- his native Britain -- presumably until he retires. Cheryl on the other hand isn't thinking about retiring so much as moving onward and upward. After ten years with the show, Burke is leaving the dancing competition series to star in a new variety show for NBC in 2015. A 30-years-old Cheryl explained that since the producers at ABC weren't interested in her making her a judge, she realized that her time teaching B and C-listers to dance had come to an end.
Nothing good ever last on the set of Dancing with the Stars and this year is no different.
No matter how compelling the chemistry or how high they place eventually every partnership comes to an end, and Val Chmerkovskiy's relationship with Pretty Little Liar starlet Janel Parrish is no different.
A source claiming to have all the behind-the-scenes deets told the Hollywood Life that almost as soon as the finale aired, Val was acting like it was time to move on with their lives:
"[Val] isn't showing the same attention that he showed her while they went through the show, he isn't acting as hands on with her and flirty and romantic.
"She has fallen for him hard and he has enjoyed the ride and really likes her, but he just doesn't feel the same way about her that she does about him."
While the status of Val and Janel's relationship is purely speculatory at this point, Cheryl Burke's disillusionment with the show is well documented.
When asked by E! News if she was interested in staying on with Dancing with the Stars if her role evolved from dancer to judge, she wasn't coy:
"This is my family. I've been a part of the show for the last decade.
"I started when I was 20. I'm 30 now. If they would ask me to be a judge, I'd love to."
At some point, however, it apparently became clear to Burke that that invitation to join the panel wasn't going to be forth coming anytime in the not so distant future.
That is when, Cheryl tells People Magazine, that she decided to take NBC up on their offer to star in a completely new show next year:
"It was very clear the show only wanted me back as a dancer.
"They weren't interested in using me for other things and letting me grow.
"This was a perfect opportunity...I've been waiting to add to my résumé now for years."
Thankfully, longtime judge Len Goodman's departure from the show isn't near as contentious.
The 70-year-old Brit, who has also been judging on the UK's version, Strictly Come Dancing, since 2004, explained that as he is getting on in years his time is too precious to waste all of it working (via Digital Spy):
Next year, I'm not going to do the flying backwards and forwards -- I'm not going to do the American show... I've got to have a bit of time off.
"I've got my wife, I've got my son, my mother is still alive and she's in hospital -- I've had virtually no time to go and visit her."
Wait a second...do the Chmerkovskiy brothers get to sleep with all the Strictly Come Dancing celebrities too?
