Stephen Colbert Interviews President Barack Obama on Comedy Central ‘Report’ Before David Letterman ‘Late Show’ Replacement

Stephen Colbert is getting ready to step down from his Comedy Central show The Colbert Report, in order to replace David Letterman as the host of The Late Show. However, Stephen Colbert still has big things planned for The Colbert Report. Tonight, Mr. Colbert goes to Washington, to interview the President of The United States, Barack Obama.

Colbert hosted the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, where he lampooned the way Democrats acted during the mid-term election, addressing The First Lady (via The Washington Post):

"There she is, looking radiant, on camera, next to the president -- which I assume she means she has no future plans to run for office… There are a lot of Democrats who don't have that courage."

You can expect more jokes like when Stephen Colbert interviews President Obama on The Colbert Report, tonight at 11:30 p.m. eastern on Comedy Central.

Stephen Colbert is getting ready to hang up his hat as the host of the Comedy Central satire show, and moving on bigger things.

Earlier in the Colbert was named as David Letterman’s replacement on CBS’ Late Show.

CBS can’t wait to get their hands on Stephen Colbert. CBS President and CEO, Les Moonves, praised the host in a press statement, announcing:

“Stephen Colbert is one of the most inventive and respected forces on television. David Letterman’s legacy and accomplishments are an incredible source of pride for all of us here, and today’s announcement speaks to our commitment of upholding what he established for CBS in late night.”
