True Blood werewolf, Jon Manganiello has made no secret about his struggles with alcoholism in his past, so you might think that fun loving Sofía Vergara might be an odd choice for a girlfriend, but word has it, it's quite the opposite. According to the latest gossip news updates, the Modern Family hot mom actually does a lot to support the Magic Mike XXL stripping boyfriend and his sobriety. Perhaps, that is why the Hollywood hunk recently bought his hot Colombian girlfriend a rose ring during a recent shopping trip out.
It would seem that Sofía Vergara has gone from one extreme to another replacing a reportedly hard partying Nick Loeb for a well-known teetotaler, Joe Manganiello.
Manganiello has been sober for 11-years, but his friends told OK! Magazine back in August that it seemed doubtful that Joe's sobriety was simpatico with Sofia's habit of cutting loose:
"At one point alcohol pretty much ruined his life.
"It won't be easy to stay sober if people around him are drinking -- especially if it is his new girlfriend.
"He's totally into her, but he's hoping that she'll rein in the drinking just a little -- and that she won't get bored with him."
An insider explained in the latest December 15, issue of Star Magazine that none of those fears were warranted as Sofía has turned out to be an amazingly support to Joe's alcohol free lifestyle.
According to the source, Sofia even accompanied Manganiello when we spoke at an AA event in Santa Monica last month:
"Joe was the guest of honor and the speaker.
"Sofia was taking pictures of him as he spoke and kept hugging and kissing him.
"She was so proud."
On top of being there for one another, it is apparently nothing for the couple to shower each other in expensive gifts.
The celebrity gossips at E! News report that just a week or two after the Alcoholic Anonymous event Joe and So were back in L.A. buying each other loads of bling:
"They bought lots of pieces -- rings, necklaces and presents for friends and family.
"Joe bought Sofía a $640 rose ring and Sofía bought Joe a wing pendant [necklace].
"Sofía also bought herself a rosary style necklace."
No, but seriously...how is this guy possibly besties with Channing Tatum again?
