Pregnant Carrie Underwood Prays Baby Husband Mike Fisher Looks After ‘Sound of Music’ Ratings Win? [NEWS UPDATE]

Despite clearly being the looker in the relationship, a very pregnant Carrie Underwood claims that she hopes the new baby looks like her hockey playing husband, Mike Fisher. After it was revealed that Carrie's live television performance of The Sound of Music last year, soundly defeated it successor, Peter Pan, in ratings and critic reception, let's just hope that the child gets its mother's musical ability. It would seem that Allison Williams really didn't understand that Lena Dunham was making fun of her lack of talent in all those Girls episodes about her lack of musical talent.

Oh, sure Carrie Underwood may have got a little guff for her performance in NBC's live musical event last year, but now she and the Sound of Music are starting to look a whole lot better thanks to the perspective provided by this year's Peter Pan debacle, starring Alison Williams and Christopher Walken.

While some critics may have made a field day of poking fun at Underwood's acting debut, the viewing public didn't seem to mind it as the ratings turnout more than guaranteed that NBC would be making the same foray back into live family entertainment the following year.

But after, Alisson Williams' Peter Pan failed to bring in even half the amount of viewers this week, the future of the netowrk experiment is looking less than certain, while Carrie and her performance have become the example of success by default (via Mass Live):

"Suddenly, the much-maligned Carrie Underwood is looking better and better.

"That certainly reflected itself in the ratings, which were off by 51 percent from the Underwood-led Sound of Music show last year."

With that kind of success under her belt you might think that Carrie Underwood would be hoping that her unborn child would be getting the lion's share of his genes from her, but that isn't necessarily that case.

During a recent chat with Taste of Country, Carrie revealed that she was sort of hoping the little boy came out looking more like his old man -- at least, around the eyes:

"I love my husband's eyes.

"Physically, I think it'd be really great if he ended up with those -- that particular color blue."

"Mike has the biggest heart...He loves people and he cares so much for people and just wants to help everybody. Definitely hope the little guy ends up with that."

Whomever the baby favors, he will definitely be brought up to mind his P's and Q's as Carrie doesn't really allow any sort of profanity or bawdy talk in the house -- not even from herself:

"The few times I tried it, it sounds weird coming out of my mouth."

Well...that just because no one probably ever took the time to teach you how to do it right.
