Amber Rose Manager Nick Cannon Defends Wife Mariah Carey After Divorce Split Turns Ugly? [NEWS UPDATE]

Even though they might be on the precipice of an ugly divorce split court battle, Nick Cannon is said to be standing by his wife, Mariah Carey, when it comes to her vocal abilities. According to the latest gossip news update, the America's Got Talent host was none too pleased when he heard people making fun of Mariah's recent performance of "All I Want for Christmas Is You" during this year's Christmas in Rockerfeller Center. Despite the fact that Carey was said to be late to the event because she was fighting with lawyers over who is going to leave the marriage with what, Amber Rose's manager has reportedly claimed that the "Butterfly" singer is an icon who deserves people's respect and understanding.

It would seems that Mariah's Carey's voice troubles have followed her from Asia to the Big Apple, as she reportedly hacked her way throw an off-key rendition of her holiday hit, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" during the recent lighting of the giant tree in Rockefeller Square.

In addition to the public deriding the performance as poorly executed and not at all worth the rainy wait, the reason for the delay was reportedly Mariah's ongoing divorce from Nick Cannon.

A source told People that Carey pushed that performance back for hours because she was on the phone with her lawyers trying to get as much as she could before it was too late:

"She was on the phone for probably close to five hours straight with lawyers... arguing over property and custody of the twins.

"She's trying to keep it together...I think they're trying to work all these details out on property and the kids before it gets filed."

Whatever her reasons for making her fans and the network wait on a phone call that could have presumably been paused and picked up at a later time, the performance was not what the tired crowd was expecting.

A source told Hollywood Life that Nick Cannon had heard all the terrible comments calling the performance torture for the hearing unimpaired, and he doesn't like it:

"Nick has seen the footage of Mariah and though the majority of people who have seen it think it was bad, he is a fan and he thinks people should give her a break because she is an icon.

"Their differences are plenty, but he thought she did great and is proud of her performance."

Say what you will about their marriage, their careers or their desperate need of attention, but if either Nick or Mariah are honestly proud of that performance...they need a whole lot more than just their hearing checked.
