It's no secret that Princess Kate Middleton, who is pregnant with her second child, suffers from terrible morning sickness. According to Kensington Palace, Middleton's illness will prevent her from joining Prince William on an upcoming trip to Asia. However, U.S. citizens can get a view of the baby bump in person, as Kate is still scheduled to appear in New York City.
If you happen to be located in the Big Apple, then you are in for quite a treat.
Prince William and Princess Kate will be visiting New York for the very first time, and they're already generating major buzz. And, according to the Telegraph, Will and Kate's upcoming visit has a certain significance to it:
"No one ever forgets their first visit to New York. It is, as the author Tom Wolfe said, a city to which you belong 'instantly'. For the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who will both set foot in the city for the first time in eight days' time, it is also a place that will go some way to defining them in the eyes of the watching world... the Duke and Duchess will forge memories that will last a lifetime not just for them, but for royal-watchers around the globe."
That's not the only reason that Prince William and Duchess Catherine find themselves in the headlines.
Another upcoming trip has been dominating headlines, as well. Prince William is headed to China, which marks the first visit from the royal family in over 30 years.
According to People, Prince William will be going solo, because Kate will be too far along in her pregnancy to fly:
"William, 32, who's set to head to New York with Kate on Dec. 7, will visit Japan and China on behalf of the British government, his office has announced...It's understood that both he and Kate, 32, were invited to China but she will be heavily pregnant with her second child by the time of the planned visits in late February and early March. Prince George's sibling is due in April."
